Introduction to Temenos Reference Data

Temenos Reference Data stores common lookup data referred by multiple banking products.

Countries, regions, holidays, common payment directories like, International Banking Account Number (IBAN), Bank Identifier Code (BIC), National IDs directories, and so on.

The common reference data can be deployed on a central platform, which can be referred by various systems that are part of the respective distributed architecture.

Temenos Reference Data is a Temenos Infrastructure (TI) based platform that includes the following modules:

  • Static Data (SI) - Handles the static data, or rarely changing in nature
  • IBAN (IN) - Handles the IBAN structure and the IBAN Plus Directories
  • Centralised Reference Data (RD) – Manages the Centralised Bank Directory and Global Payments Innovation (GPI) directory.

Banks can upload and maintain data from various sources in the Temenos Reference Data platform (for example, SWIFTRef IBAN Plus, Bank Directory Plus, GPI directories, and son) that are accessed by various business systems through REST APIs.

Temenos business systems, country model bank and local implementation layers that are based on Temenos Infrastructure (for example, Standalone Temenos Payment Hub), use IBAN and bank reference data public methods available in the System Table (ST) module. The ST public methods invoke the IBAN and bank reference data Master Data Access Layer (MDAL) methods which access the data based on the configuration in the MDAL. The MDAL methods use the IN and RD REST APIs to refer the data from the central platform.
