Introduction To Limit Balance

The Limit Property Class can maintain the balance information of total sanctioned, utilised, unutilised and excess.

  • In case of a single limit, the information is maintained on the same account that is linked with the limit.
  • In case of a shared limit, the user can maintain this information in one of the accounts that is linked with the limit (or) can make use of a dedicated account.

The Limit Property Class holds the account information that maintains the limit balance information.

When a limit is defined based on a time code, it is possible to maintain balance information based on time code definition. The user can choose to maintain time code balances in addition to the summary balances.

Since limit balance information is maintained as balance types, the user can calculate fees or charges corresponding to each balance. For instance, the user can calculate

  • A charge on the total limit amount
  • An interest on the utilised and unutilised amount
  • A penalty interest on the overdrawn limit amount.
