Introduction to Charges and Fees
Financial institutions apply various types of charges and commissions for the services offered to their customers like payment fees and early redemption charge on deposits. Moreover, some products and services offered by the bank are also subject to various taxes.
The charges and commissions applicable to various business activities can be defined in the Charges and Fees (CG) module and can be referred by the Temenos modules when charges or commissions are linked to transactions. The CG module manages the tax definitions and rules to group customers for tax purposes along with the details of the customer group arrived at based on various grouping conditions (for example, payments, forex and letter of credits) defined in the system.
The CG module also handles the charge group assigned to each customer and provides the basic services to calculate charges and tax on charge, which are used by various Temenos modules during transaction processing.
