Introduction to Reuters Datascope Interface

Reuters Datascope Interface is used to update the price details (currency rates, periodic interest rates, basic interest rates, security price updates, and forward rates) from Reuter’s server via the Internet.

This interface acts as a middle layer between Temenos Transact and Reuters Datascope server for sending request file from the Temenos Transact system and then, receiving and processing of raw data file sent as a response to the request file. Based upon the response file, the interface will process the file and upload the price details in Temenos Transact applications.

The Reuters Datascope Interface primarily consists of TSA.SERVICE records that are used to send and receive the raw data files.

Individual service record is available to send and receive the request or response files from Reuters for each price updates in the Temenos Transact host. The communication between Datascope server and Temenos Transact server will process using the FTP login details parameterised in the Temenos Transact application.

Here, the request messages from Temenos Transact host to Reuter’s server will be in XML format, where the response file with price updates from Reuters will be in comma-separated value (CSV) file format. The update of the rate can be done only against a single currency market.
