IDology

IDology is a third-party service that performs identity verification and authentication by matching user’s provided data with public and private databases. It monitors and prevents fraudulent activity while meeting compliance regulations.

Based on the PII data provided by the user on the application, the IDology service checks this data against all the available public and private database to confirm the existence of records similar to the data provided by the user.

The API service returns data qualifiers about this match, which could include a set of out of the wallet security questions to perform a final identity verification check. This happens only if required, as a part of the Identity Verification process.

Your responses to these identity verification questions is sent to IDology for the final verification. The IDology service provider then calculates and returns the number of questions answered correctly. Based on this number, the Temenos Digital Origination can be configured to set the application as either approved, denied, or under-review.

The IDology services also perform screening check, for names involved in any fraudulent or terrorist activity.

For implementing the identity verification, a Financial Institution can replace IDology with any other third-party API of their choice. However, this requires an extra effort to configure a new integration.

Products Supported

IDology supports the following products:

• ExpectID PA (including Global Watchlist): This screening service checks if the applicant’s name is listed on any government watch lists, worldwide.
• Expect ID: This service access thousands of data sources containing billions of USA public records to validate an identity while also providing predictive, intelligent information around that identity.
• ExpectID IQ: A dynamic knowledge-based authentication (KBA) solution that asks users a series of relevant, multiple-choice questions. These allow your business to confirm the users are who they claim they are. Expect ID is also named as KYC (Know Your Customer) solution.
